Over 20 years ago, the Golf Ball Outlet and Fireworks Mega Store was far different than the store it is today. Started by two friends, Kim and Kimberly, on the side of the road, the Golf Ball Outlet and Fireworks Mega Store has grown in both size and recognition. The idea came about after a weekend trip, where the pair found themselves in the midst of a popular used golf balls store. After talking to the owner, the women quickly realized the potential a store like this would have in Hilton Head Island, another golfing paradise. Both Kim and Kimberly agreed—this was an investment worth making. So while their friends and family watched cautiously from the sidelines, the two ladies dove head first into the world of recycled golf balls.

It was only a short time before the two women found themselves in the midst of a thriving small business. They soon upgraded from roadside stand to small store, right in Okatie, South Carolina. But yet again the two found themselves in a store that was too small for their booming business, so they decided to move it onto the newly re-routed Highway 278 in Hardeeville, South Carolina. Shortly thereafter they also added fireworks to the list of commodities and used golf balls to become the Golf Ball Outlet and Fireworks Mega Store.

When they moved to Hardeeville, the realized they needed some good help, and as luck would have it, they soon met Deirdre. “Miss D” as she is affectionately known, has worked in the store for over 12 years, and is considered our own fireworks connoisseur. She is friendly, cheerful and always ready to help. Year after year, customers come back just to see what Miss D will pick out next, because you know it will always be a good one!

Because of the expertise of these three women, Kim, Kimberly and Miss D, our store boasts the highest quality selection of fireworks in Hardeeville. Although our store is smaller than some of our neighbors, these three made it a point to carry only the best fireworks and their personal favorites. So rest assured, you won’t find any “fillers” here!

In the Spring of 2008, Kim and Kimberly sold their store to the Granick family who now owns and operates it. Although under different management, little has changed in the store. We were fortunate to purchase such a great, family-owned business, and hope to maintain the same level of expertise, great customer service and friendly advice that has kept people coming back for over 20 years!
